Purchase: Abbey Hall

1830s England, a little village called Lacock, a rambling old abbey. A man named William Henry Fox Talbot settled down there with his family and lived a creative and inventive life. With his invented camera obscura, William captured “Latticed Window” in August of 1835: the very first photographic negative taken in the world. Standing in front of that sunny window nearly two centuries later, I was struck by his genius. I was thankful that we had stumbled upon this special place. I gave my thanks to this person who made such a contribution to how we capture our lives. For me, it’s integral.
